Email Spam Checker: Spam Score & Email Deliverability Test

To run a spam test, send your email to our test address. You can find it at the top of this page. We generate a unique testing email address for every user, so you can rest assured that your data is protected and only you can see the results. After you've sent your email to our address, simply click 'Step 2: View Results' to see your results.

The first step in improving your deliverability rate is pinpointing the issues that may be causing it. We recommend testing every single email before sending it to your list. To ensure high deliverability rates, start by fixing any Errors and Warnings flagged after running an email spam test. If you're sure you followed best practices, but still struggle with low deliverability rates, speak with an email deliverability consultant.

Ideally, yes. Spam testing every email before sending it to your list will ensure that your technical setup is correct, your domain hasn't been blacklisted, and that the contents of your email won't trigger any spam filters.

Emails may go to spam due to:

• Spam-trigger words in subject lines or content.
• Missing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication.
• A blacklisted domain or IP address.
• Poor sender reputation or engagement signals.

To fix these issues, Unspam.email provides expert deliverability consulting for businesses struggling with inbox placement. If your emails are still landing in spam, our team can analyze your email infrastructure, optimize your sender reputation, and implement best practices to improve deliverability.

If your emails still land in spam after you have cleaned up the content, run a spam test, and set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, the cause is usually reputation or engagement rather than the message itself:

• Sender reputation: past blacklisting, spam complaints, or a shared or previously flagged IP can hold mail back even when the content is clean.
• Engagement-based filtering: if recipients often ignore or delete your emails, Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo learn to route them to spam.
• Infrastructure: a misconfigured mail server or DNS records.
• Too much promotional content: heavy images, links, or sales-driven language keep triggering filters.

Warm up new sending addresses, build an engaged audience, and keep an eye on your own sender reputation over time.

A higher spam score increases the chances of landing in the inbox. To improve your email spam score:

• Avoid spam-trigger words like "Free Money," "Act Now," or "Exclusive Deal."
• Authenticate your emails with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
• Use a professional domain instead of free email providers like Gmail or Yahoo.
• Keep a balanced text-to-image ratio to avoid spam filtering.
• Remove broken links and ensure your domain is not blacklisted.

Use a spam test tool to analyze and adjust your email before sending.

Yes. Once you have an account you can set up an automatic spam test: save the email you want checked, choose the days and the time it should run, and Unspam sends it, scores it, and emails you the result. Every run is stored, so you can watch the spam score move over time instead of comparing screenshots of one-off tests. The same scheduling covers automatic inbox placement when you also want to know which folder the email landed in.
